He was member, general secretary and head of Turkish Society of Cardiology and head of Turkic World Cardiology Association.
He was member of fellow committee of European Society of Cardiology and he is fellow of ESC (European Society of Cardiology) and ACC (American College of Cardiology) (FESC, FACC).
He authored more than a hundred papers that are published in SCI journals and were highly cited (more than 2000). He authored and edited more than thirty books.
He took role in numerous international multi-center phase III clinical trials: InTIME, BEAUTIFUL, SHIFT, STICH, CLARITY, I-SEARCH, ROCKET-AF, PARADIGM-HF. National clinical trials include TURKSAHA, METSAR, and ICEBERG.
